Keep It Real
Thank you for being honest by saying that you sometimes raise you sometimes raises your voice and get impatient with your four-year-old. This is very typical reaction from a parent, and rare are parents who have enough patience to go through the same material over and over again with their children. Your decision to pass on this work to a tutor may actually be a good idea. This way, your interaction with your child can become more pleasant, as you have taken away the pressure of having to review him with schoolwork. As adults, we often expect that children will be able to remember things very well.
Apart from the fact that kids below five are still developing crucial parts of their brains responsible for creating lasting memories, they also have very limited experiences. One of the reasons adults have an easier time learning and remembering various materials is due to our capacity to refer back to past experiences and adjust what we already know to new material we are trying to absorb.
